Janet Cruz, Fl Senate District 18 Candidate, Voted NO for the School Safety Florida 2018 Bill

Andy Pollack, the father of Meadow, one of the victims of Florida’s Parkland High School shooting, supported recent legislation in the aftermath of the shooting. (Watch Pollack in this video right below discussing his efforts to have this legislation passed).


This legislation passed earlier this year. Included in the new school safety bill:

1. raises the age to purchase a gun

2. Bans bump stocks 

3. allows law enforcement, with the approval of a judge, to bar a person deemed dangerous due to mental illness from owning guns for up to a year

4.  400 million into budget that goes towards mental health services  and increased protection of schools


5.  Funding so that every public school in Florida has a school safety officer.

Janet Cruz VOTES NO to School Safety

Janet Cruz and Dana Young are the current candidates seeking to be elected to represent the citizens of Florida’s Senate District 18 on during the 2018 election cycle.  Dana Young voted YES (see video where Young briefly discusses her support/vote of this legislation). for this school safety bill and Janet Cruz voted NO on this measure.  Janet Cruz will be invited to an online segment on Florida You Judge to discuss her reasons for not voting for this measure.
