FAITH not fear

I AM hurricane ready.  I have done everything that I can humanly do to prepare for the worst.  I AM Faith ready too.  I will have FAITH for myself and for my fellow Floridians.

2 Timothy 1:7 7For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.

I am praying for all that have been and may be affected by this storm system.  Let us trust God (He is the one in control of this thing).  Isaiah 59:19.  I will place my confidence in my Deliverer and His word.  Love God and let’s take care of each other.  I have already been contacted by neighbors offering from their resources should I need anything.  The only thing that I was lacking this morning was plywood for a second story window and I thought there is no way I will find some.  A couple of hours ago a neighbor called and offered to not only provide some plywood for me but came over and installed it, for free.  After he did, I remembered speaking with another neighbor in the morning about our plywood necessity.  I asked my gracious plywood providing neighbor (I was embarrassed to ask after he hooked me up) that if per chance he had any plywood left if he could help another neighbor of ours, Jim.  I impressed upon him not to feel obligated and that I was so appreciative of what he had done for me even if he was unable to help further.  He told me, “tell Jim to call me right now so I can get his window measurements.”  Jim was overjoyed at the news of this simple but beautiful bounty.  One good thing that has come out of this, we are not focused on recent local and national divisiveness.  Our Governor Rick Scott today said that our state is a melting pot of so many different and incredible people.  So true.  Regardless of cultural, political, race, etc differences, I see people helping and caring for one another.  Let’s shine.

God reminded me of this powerful spiritual song today (sort of a war chant when spiritual enemies arise).  It blessed/amped my faith tremendously this morning.  Let us love God and love each other.  Let us serve and look out for each other now, after this thing passes through, and “always.” (name of the song by the way).  During times like these, so much to learn to make us better people.

“Always”

My foes are many, they rise against me
But I will hold my ground
I will not fear the war, I will not fear the storm
My help is on the way, my help is on the way Oh, my God, He will not delay
My refuge and strength always
I will not fear, His promise is true
My God will come through always, always.  Troubles surround me, chaos abounding
My soul will rest in You
I will not fear the war, I will not fear the storm
My help is on the way, my help is on the way

God is in Control
